RTP 2.0

Published January 31, 2007 by Robbie

Last Friday I attended a meeting for RTP web entrepreneurs at Intersouth Partners in Durham. We are referring to the group as RTP 2.0 (background here). Fred of ClaimID and BarCampRDU fame organized the event. Fred continues to take a leadership role in connecting local entrepreneurs. There were about 10 of us in attendance and we spent most of the two hours discussing our various definitions of Web 2.0 (I’ve been involved in about 6 such conversations previously). There were some interesting insights on running web businesses in a web 2.0 world. I made three quality connections that I’m going to follow up with in the coming weeks.

While organizations like CED serve as a broad forum for local entrepreneurs, the selectivity of RTP 2.0 made a big difference. I met more people on Friday I could see myself forming a business relationship with than I have in two years of attending CED events.

Thanks again Fred! I look forward to the next meeting.
