2006 in Review
Published January 11, 2007 by Robbie
2006 was an interesting year for me and 2007 is shaping up to be even more so. The beginning of the new year is a good time to look back and assess what went well and not so well the previous year. I’ve listed some of my personal highlights (and lowlights) of 2006 below.
- I graduated from MIT
- A deer jumped on my car
- My wife got pregnant :-)
- I changed jobs
- My neighbor’s house was struck by lightning
- I started editing books for the Pragmatic Bookshelf
- My kneecap temporarily dislocated (patellar subluxation) while playing basketball, which put me on crutches for a month
- I attended the Venture ‘06 conference and the Getting Real Workshop
- I found a new favorite place
- I spoke at the Conference on World Affairs and BarCampRDU
- I learned Ruby on Rails and used it to develop two websites
- I co-authored three books

Happy New Year! Wish you luck in the upcoming year.
I managed to do only one of the things on your list (graduate from MIT).
Cheers,
Dharmesh
Thanks Dharmesh. You did one important thing I didn’t make much traction on: build a startup. Best of luck in the new year.
