Startup School was a great way to spend a Saturday. I took ten pages worth of notes.

First of all, fantastic notes. Thank you for posting and sharing them.
The list of speakers looks impressive indeed. How was Michael Mandel?
You’re completely right, and I’ve been meaning to write about, the lack of inspiration from most of our MIT professors. Especially on the engineering side, this is a problem: at least some of the Sloan professors, like Utterback and von Hippel, provide inspiration.
Mandel was very interesting. I hadn’t heard of him before, but now that I look back I have read some of his work. Definitely a contrarian economist compared to the standard line you usually get. He wasn’t very optimistic about China’s outlook.
